The use of an external antenna provides an increase in RF signal performance simply because the signal is fed directly to the radio tuner through a series of filters.

An increase in RF signal is typically associated with an increase in the audio clarity of a broadcast. External antennas are available for all bands and vary in their design depending on the frequency range in which they are designed to operate. A good external antenna like our Q3070 uses coaxial cable to transfer the signal from outdoors to indoors.

Often external antennas utilise a BNC male plug, this adaptor allows easy compatibility with the Tecsun range of radios. The adaptor uses solid metal construction to ensure good RF shielding and conductivity.
